What is there not to love about the C63 AMG? It packs astonishing amounts of punch from its enormous engine and looks quit civilized! Truth is, it’s a mean machine that has to be tamed when driven hard. But what happens when AVUS Performance gets their hands on a C63 AMG is even more terrifying! They decide to pack 585hp in the small sedan and that can project the car to a top speed of 320km/h, tires permitting. The fact that AVUS doesn’t make its cars look like a space shuttles also helps because you can be sure this car would have been a failure if it looked like the ASMA’s Phantasma CL Chrome.

Mercedes Benz C63 AMG – A wolf in sheep’s clothing
After the latest two publications from AVUS PERFORMANCE they are now showing that they are modifying not only cars from Ingolstadt. Their latest project car is a complete conversion based on the current Mercedes C63 AMG.
Understatement was something the tuner has focussed on again. Besides the original 19“ AMG multi-spoke wheels (20“ optionally) first thing that stands out is the lower suspension setting which has been achieved by changing the standard springs – coilovers are avaiable as an option. Further visual improvements can be seen only at a second sight. The mirror covers, the front grille, the roof, the mercedes star and the bar below have been painted in black which look as if it is a factory option by mercedes. Additionally the exhaust system has been changed to a stainless steel system which lets the car to sound the attack.
Of course visual improvements are not bad at all but what about power figures? For the C63 AMG AVUS PERFORMANCE offers three power stages. The current project car has stage 3 with 585bhp (457bhp) and 740Nm (600Nm). Top speed increases to 320km/h depending on tire approval. To properly decelerate the car 8 piston brake calipers with 380mm diameter are offered.
