You may have heard of the German tuner G-Power for setting the world speed record for a sedan with their 750hp 2009 G-Power BMW M5 Hurricane RS. But you may not have heard that they unveiled their customization package for the BMW X5. The 2009 G-Power BMW X5 Typhoon is the without doubt the best-looking BMW X5 ever made by any tuning house. G-Power takes care of adding a compressor to the car that brings the power from 350hp to 510hp. This gives the beast a 0-100km/h (62mph) in under 5 seconds and a top speed of 271km/h (168mph). Although the Typhoon is not as powerful as the BMW X5 M unveiled last week, it’s still a much more desirable car!

About G-Power
BMW engines with forced induction have many years of tradition at G-POWER. As early as in the 80ies, the legendary BMW G3 Bi-Turbo with 430 hp was developed on the basis of the 3 Series BMW E30, resulting from the collaboration with Alpina (from 1973-1983); today, the spearhead of the programme is the G-POWER G5 V10 HURRICANE RS BI-Kompressor with 750 hp, which, with a maximum speed of 228,3 mph (367,4 km/h), has set a new world record as the fastest sedan with approval for road service in the world.

G-POWER offers its supercharger system in several performance stages.
The range begins with systems in combination with the standard engine featuring soft charging with material-saving 0.3–0.5 bar boost (M-engine up to 0.4 bars) and ends with systems featuring a boost level of up to 1.0 bar, which are offered together with a completely modified G-POWER engine, only. Every G-POWER supercharged engine features the unrestricted everyday practicability of the factory engine, combined with an improved specific consumption and the BMW-typical reliability.
