Audi RS3, said to be in the works...

The latest rumor concerning our friends over at Audi is that a RS3 model is currently in the works. The RS3 would become the entry model for the RS super performance Audi models. For those who might not be so familiar to Audi's RS models, they're usually high powered 4-wheel drive monster that will take you to 100km/h (62mph) in considerably less time then 5 seconds.

To be more precise the new RS3 will be powered by the new TT-RS's 5 cylinder direct injection 2.5 liter turbo engine that will pump out 340hp. That promises performance figures that will allow the little car to go from 0-100km/h (62mph) in 4.7 seconds and a max speed of 275km/h (170mph).  The picture above and under are artist renderings of the future RS3 which will feature the large twin exhaust pipes and large agressive air intakes like all RS models.

The little Audi will be an awesome altenrative to the Subaru WRX STi and the Lancer Evo X MR, although you can expect it will probably be slightly more expensive. The RS3 will be probably be previewed at the begining of next year.
